Older plants struggle to remove nitrates, phosphates, pharmaceuticals and heavy metals (eg. Arsenic). Tightened environmental standards may not be met by older plants, and can lead to fines. Building new conventional plants is also a huge expense.

Our technology can either be used as a stand-alone facility or as a retrofit. As plants, algae benefits from both nitrates and phosphates, and can absorb some heavy metals into their cell structure while reducing others. Our facilities can meet stringent industrial, potable or agricultural water standards, as required.
